Method-Lab 3 is a collaboration between the Lincoln artist collective, General Practice ([gP]) and Trace; in which [gP] artists will undertake a month-long residency in Trace, during which they will create exhibitions, zines, and a series of one-day events. The aim of the project is to promote exchange with other artist-led initiatives, stimulate critical and creative discourse, and sustain an engaged visual arts culture between Lincoln and Nottingham.

Method-Lab is built around three documented "make-days", which are experimental one-day residencies where the artists engage in something akin to "toddler play". They work independently in a shared space, sometimes bumping up and working together, and sometimes lost in their own worlds. The first make-day takes place at the [gP] studio, where the artists create artworks; the second make-day is held at the University of Lincoln, where the artists create a zine for the show; and the final make-day is at Trace, where the artists set up the exhibition.

In between the make-days, the individual artists will continue to develop their Method-Lab work in makeshift home studios and at [gP], alongside critical discourses and the use of video calls to keep connections. The exhibition, zine, filmed make-days, and one-day discursive event aim to weave together the threads of individual practices and define [gP]'s ethos as an experimental and collective platform for individual artists.

Featured artists include Nathan Baxter, Andrew Bracey, Rob Britt, Kate Buckley, Fi Carruthers, Dave Carruthers, Joana Cifre Cerda, Annie Morrad, Nick Simpson, Ollie Ventress, Alex Wright, and other members of the General Practice collective.
